At Chance, developing new products means putting them through demanding testing environments, from the most gruelling races to long days out training and anything in between. It can take us up to 12 months to launch a product from conception, through testing and final production.

As part of the testing for our SS23 prototypes, Chance co-founder Christian Meier embarked on an epic day, from the Med to the Mountains.

“A few years ago I rode my bike from the coast to the Pyrenees and skied up to the peak of a mountain. Since I started running I wanted to do the same experience on foot and yesterday was the day. Setting off from the Med early on an absolutely incredible morning and finishing off on and even bigger high when the nearly full moon popped up over the top of the mountains as we finished the effort coming down off Puigmal.¨

¨To be honest I don’t remember the day as a physical effort or as a training day or as a big challenge, I remember it as a kid who was outside playing all day and finally had to come inside because it was getting dark. I got to share the road and the trails with friends but I also got to experience solitude and moments of complete silence surrounded only by beautiful mountains, quite a perfect day.”

The day in numbers:

Calonge to Puigmal

0m - 2910m

Ride 149.89km 2613m

Run 15.91km 1812m

Total moving time 8h 10min 04sec

One step closer to SS23
