The Speed Project is the world’s most infamous unsanctioned race: the quintessential ‘from here to there’ experience, unsupported, with no official route and, famously, no spectators. On European soil, it’s over 450km from the start in Chamonix to the French coast in Marseille - the only imperative being to get there as quickly as you can, alone or in a relay.
After completing the US edition as part of a relay, friend of Chance Davide Tempesta undertook this momentous race alone – and won.
A mere blog post wouldn’t do the story justice - so we invite you to explore his reflections on answering a profound call to race again, and his journey from the mountains to the sea with an arrow on his back.
